Anti-social elements pelted stones at the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) sitting MLA Subhash Singh’s convoy in Bihar’s Gopalganj district seeking votes. Five vehicles of the MLA were damaged in stone pelting. While 14 workers were injured. The incident happened in Hardia village of Thawe police station. After the attack, the BJP workers became fierce and the attackers went on a rampage with anti-social elements. But, high positioned MLAs and other party workers calmly pacified him.
After getting the information, SDO Upendra Kumar Pal, SDPO Naresh Paswan, City Inspector Prashant Kumar Rai, and Thawe Police Station Vishal Anand reached the spot with the police force and investigated the matter. It is reported that BJP MLA Subhash Singh went to Hardia village of the Thawe police station in Gopalganj assembly constituency on Friday to seek votes with his workers. Due to the footpath in the village, he was riding on a bike and appealed to the people to vote in his favor. His four-wheeler was following him. Meanwhile, some antisocial elements in the village of Hardia started pelting stones. The MLA narrowly survived in stone-pelting. After this, the attackers started throwing brick and stone from their roofs.
A tense situation arose in the village following the attack on the convoy of Sadar MLA Subash Singh. However, due to the activism of the police officials, the major incident was postponed. The police reached the village on time and brought the situation under control. The police are camping in the village under the leadership of the Sadar SDPO. There is peace in the village at present. Sadar SDPO and SDO, who arrived on the spot to investigate the matter, carried out a flag march in the village with the police force. During this, the people of the village were appealed to maintain peace and order.
While seeking votes on the convoy of Sadar MLA Subhash Singh, an application has been lodged at the Thawe police station to register an FIR against the anti-social elements who attacked. The police has started investigating the case on the basis of the application. Thave police said that action will be taken against the people who marked the attack on the basis of the application.
After the attack on the convoy of Sadar MLA Subhash Singh, he demanded the Election Commission and the district administration to increase his security. The MLA said that there was a fatal attack on his convoy. In such a situation, their security should be increased. He further added, that along with increasing security, the district administration should allow people with licensed weapons to be present with him.
