People who distributed certificates of nationalism are now exposed: Sonia Gandhi

Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Friday, citing Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami’s alleged WhatsApp chat, said that those who distribute certificates of patriotism and nationalism to others are now completely exposed. In the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting, she also alleged that the government had shown astonishing insensitivity and arrogance in the name of interaction with farmer organizations.

Sonia Gandhi said that the Parliament session is going to start in a week. This is the budget session, but there are many issues of public interest that need to be fully discussed. Whether the government agrees on this or not, will be seen and questioned. Referring to the farmers ‘agitation against the central government’s proposed three Farm Bills, she alleged, “The farmers’ movement is going on and the government has shown astonishing insensitivity and arrogance in the name of dialogue.”

She also said that it is clear that laws were made in a hurry and Parliament was not given an opportunity to assess their effects. We reject these laws because they will destroy the foundations of food security. Referring to the WhatsApp conversation, she said, “Recently we saw very disturbing reports about how national security has been compromised …. people who distribute certificates of patriotism and nationalism to others are now completely exposed”. She also targeted the government on the state of the country’s declining economy and said that the government is in a hurry over privatization.
