Bihar: Vehicle guilty of an accident will have its registration and driver’s license canceled

The government has taken a big decision to curb road accidents in Bihar. Registration of vehicles guilty of road accidents will now be canceled. With this, the driver’s license will also be canceled. Transport Secretary Sanjay Aggarwal instructed the officials about this decision after a video conferencing meeting. Along with this, the government is also going to run a special campaign against overloading in auto and bus. Instructions have also been given to speed up the fitness check-up campaign with helmets, seat belts in the districts.

Bihar Transport Department Minister Sheila Kumari has appealed to people to wear helmets while driving two-wheelers. He said that life is precious, do not play with it and do not drive your vehicle at high speed. During the meeting, Transport Secretary Sanjay Kumar Aggarwal directed the District Transport Officer of all the districts to carry out special vehicle check drive in the districts to ensure compliance of road safety rules. In particular, to strictly control overloading in the auto and bus being run by overloading on the highway, campaign vigorously.

It must be noted that the Transport Secretary had taken information from the District Transport Officer of the concerned districts about the causes of road accidents in various districts in recent days and the action taken after the accident. He gave clear instructions that the three-member team should visit the accident site and investigate the accident and take prompt action. Directives have also been given to take action in this direction so that the relatives of the deceased could get the benefit of third party insurance.
