Bihar: Student committed suicide by hanging herself in her hostel room

A student, living in a women’s hostel situated at Makhanian Kuan in Pirbhor police station area of ​​the capital, Patna, hanged herself and committed suicide. The student, Sneha Poddar (20) was originally from Begumpur located in the Chowk police station area of ​​Patna City. 

After the information, police reached the spot and took the body, and sent it for postmortem. Academic pressure and depression are being believed to be important reasons behind suicide. The family could not say anything about why the student took such a step. Keeping other aspects in mind, the police is investigating the case.

It was said that for the last six months, the student Sneha Poddar used to stay in the said hostel of Makhanian Kuan and study for B. Sc. and prepare for competitive examinations. She went to sleep in the room after having dinner on Saturday night. When she did not come out of the room till late on Sunday morning, the people living around suspected her. Many times, when no response was received from inside, people informed the police about it. 

After information, police reached the spot and broke the door of the room, the scene inside was horrifying. The body of the student was hanging from the fan hook in the room. After some information, the family of the deceased also reached the spot. Peerabhor police station in-charge Rizwan Ahmed said that no suicide note has been found from the room. How the death took place will be clear only after the post mortem report comes out. Further action will be taken based on whatever facts will be revealed in the investigation.
