Bihar elections 2020: Congress gears up for ‘Mahila Kranti Sammelan’

As “women” have been named the “silent force” behind the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s electoral victories in Bihar, the Congress party has decided to woo them by launching ‘Mahila Kranti Sammelan’ ahead of the State Assembly polls.

Sources reveal that Congress Party General Secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will address the conference through virtual mode, which is likely to be held in the second week of October.
A Congress official said that they are preparing to organize a huge women’s conference and for this, some time has been sought from Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

As part of the conference preparations, the party has decided to screen in rural areas as well. In addition, a large number of women will also appear connected through their mobile phones and social media platforms. The main objective of the party for organizing this conference is that a large number of about 50,000 women from all over Bihar can directly attend the conference and furthermore, around 5,00,000 people attend the conference through social media platforms, which makes the conference very important, reports Telangana Today.

It is to be noted that in Bihar, the Congress is contesting in the face of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. In such a situation, the party relies on them to woo large audiences of Bihar. Along with Priyanka Gandhi’s Women’s Conference, Rahul Gandhi’s virtual rallies are also being planned ahead of the assembly elections in Bihar. In the first week of August, Rahul Gandhi addressed party workers from Bihar through video conferencing. In Bihar, the main challenge before the Congress is to get more seats in alliance with the RJD.
Bihar has elections scheduled in three phases from October 28 to November 7. The counting of votes will take place on November 10.
