ADB appointed Ashok Lavasa as VP

Ashok Lavasa, 1980 batch retired IAS officer has appointed as Vice – President by Asian Development Bank. He will succeed Diwarkar Gupta, whose term will end on 31 August.

He retired as the Indian Administrative Service officer of Haryana cadre ( Batch 1980). Ashok Lavasa assumed Election Commissioner of India charges on January 23, 2018.

Before taking the position of Election Commissioner, he retired on superannuation as Union Finance Secretary. He also worked as Secretary for Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change and also Ministry of Civil Aviation.
