Kisan Samman Nidhi: Sushil Modi said- 81 lakh farmers of Bihar received 7503 crores

Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Modi has said that two years since the launch of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi has been completed. Under this scheme, 80.90 lakh farmers of Bihar have received the assistance of Rs 7,503 crore 79 lakh so far. For the first time after independence, under this scheme launched for the farmers, the amount is transferred directly to the farmers’ account without any middleman and commission.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the MP said that now 1.75 lakh crores of assistance has been given to 10.75 crores farmers of the country, whereas the announcement of debt waiver by the Congress did not benefit the farmers of 50 thousand crores. A provision of 65 thousand crores has been made in this year’s budget. In the next 10 years, the farmers will get the assistance of about 6.5 lakh crores.

Modi said that West Bengal is the only state in the country where 68 lakh farmers are deprived of the benefits of this scheme due to the stubborn attitude of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee despite their eligibility to get assistance. When the 38 lakh farmers of the place got their registration done directly through the portal, the Prime Minister and the Central Government did not get the credit, so the West Bengal government did not make their list available to the Central Government.
