The government will build 100-bed hostels in 136 blocks of Bihar. The Bihar cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday evening. In this meeting, the Nitish government put its stamp on 9 agendas. The most important of the agendas approved in the meeting are 136 blocks of Bihar, where the population of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes is more than 30 thousand.

The decision was taken in the meeting of the Cabinet which lasted for about one and a half hours in the auditorium located in the Old Secretariat. There are about 136 blocks out of 534 blocks of the state where the population of scheduled caste and tribe community is more than 30 thousand. The government has decided to construct a new hostel of 100 beds in each such block. On the proposal presented by the Education Department, the Cabinet has decided to relax the rules of certificates in post-matriculation scholarship.

According to the information received from the sources, on the basis of the income certificate submitted by the students for the scholarship of 2021-22, it has been decided to give scholarships for 2019-20 and 2020-2021 to these students. It is worth noting that due to the global pandemic corona, the post-matric scholarship was not given for 2 years. On the proposal of the Department of Building Construction, the Nitish government, after deliberation, has decided to give an extension of one year to 21 engineers who have passed the GATE exam and working on a contract basis in the Building Construction Department, besides the Cabinet on the proposal of the Health Department. Has also given its approval to the new appointment of ECG, X-ray Technician, and Service Condition Rules.
