There is tension in the NDA over the Bihar assembly elections. There is a possibility that BJP and JDU may announce seat sharing any time today. Meanwhile, an important meeting of the Parliamentary Party will be held today under the chairmanship of LJP President Chirag Paswan. The meeting was scheduled to take place on Saturday but was postponed due to the deteriorating health of LJP founder Ram Vilas Paswan. In this meeting, the LJP will put its stamp on the possibility of accepting the offer of a seat in the NDA or exiting the alliance. However, the party has already authorized Chairman Chirag Paswan for any decision.
Operation of Ram Vilas Paswan’s heart in Delhi
Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan had a heart operation in a hospital in Delhi. His son and Lok Janashakti Party (LJP) president Chirag Paswan has tweeted this information. Chirag also said that his father may have to undergo another surgery in the coming weeks if needed.
BJP and JDU, two important partners of NDA, have almost resolved the issues related to seat-sharing related to the Bihar Assembly Election, prepared by BJP after the NDA came out of the alliance. According to reliable sources from both parties, all the controversial seats were discussed during the meeting and an amicable solution has been worked out.
However, there remains a doubt over Lok Janshakti Party’s (LJP) presence as a third partner in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The LJP has indicated fighting for 147 seats. A senior BJP official said that if LJP decides to pull out of the alliance, the party is ready with Plan B and can play a role in Mukesh Saini’s VIP party. Saini had a walkout from the Grand Alliance on Saturday in a dramatic development. The LJP is threatening that if its demand for 42 seats is not met, it will break away from the NDA and contest against JDU. LJP is targeting Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for alleged failures of the government on the employment front and on the overall development of the state, reports Hindustan.
