The high-level team of the Election Commission of India, which arrived on a two-day Bihar tour for the Assembly elections 2020, expressed satisfaction over the election preparations being made by the local administration amid the Corona crisis. Election meetings shall not include more than one hundred persons
The team directed that not more than one hundred persons shall be involved in the election meetings. No process should be done without a mask. The central and state government guidelines regarding corona should be followed at every level. At the meeting, Principal Secretary of the Health Department, Supriya Amrit informed about the action being taken to manage the essential kit for the mask, sanitizer, and election workers for Corona from a rescue. Also gave a presentation about the preparations.
In the consensus meeting on the inclusion of women workers in the election work, it was also emphasized to ensure the availability of sufficient electoral staff for the Bihar Assembly Election 2020. Consent has already been given by the Commission to include women workers and contract workers in the election work. During the election preparations in the meeting, instructions were given to take action against Tamila and anti-social elements of the pending warrants.
Officers suggested making masks compulsory.
State government officials suggested that masks be included in the Election Code of Conduct. On this, the team of the Commission said that the mask has been made mandatory in the Election Commission guidelines.
